Bilberry Pro 80mg
Bilberry (Vaccinum myrtillus) is a relative of Blueberry family. It grows wild among the heaths, moors and woodlands of northern Europe, and in the Rocky Mountains of the United States. Bilberry is commonly used to make jams, pies, cobblers, syrups, and Bilberry wine. The modern use of Bilberry dates back to World War II, when British Royal Air Force pilots reported that a good dose of Bilberry jam just prior to a mission improved their night vision. Subsequent investigation showed that Bilberry contains biologically active substances known as anthocyanosides. Some evidence suggests that anthocyanosides may benefit the retina. Bilberry is also rich in bioflavonoids, powerful antioxidant agents. These bioflavonoids are highly effective free-radical scavengers. They may support visual adaptation to light and may help maintain normal nighttime vision.
*Anthocyanosides support the health of the eye and circulatory system by providing antioxidant activity, improving micro-circulation and supporting healthy connective tissue formation.*
DESCRIPTION
Bilberry Pro (Bilberry)
Bilberry, a close relative of blueberry, has a long history of therapeutic use. The dried fruit was traditionally used to support the normal functioning of a healthy digestive system, as well as healthy, normal vision. Bilberry fruit and its extracts contain a number of biologically active components, including a class of compounds called anthocyanosides, which may have a powerful antioxidant effect. On the culinary side, Bilberry is commonly used to make jams, pies, cobblers, syrups, and beverages.
APPEARANCE
Bilberry is a perennial shrub that grows to about 16 inches in height. It has oval, pointed leaves and small pink and white flowers, which bloom from April through June. In the late summer, its dark purple berries are ripe to pick. Bilberry is a relative of blueberry, cranberry, and huckleberry, and its fruit looks and tastes very much like the blueberry.
