Empty Cartridge (for Whole House Filter Version 3)
This cartridge is a replacement backwash filter for Whole House Water Filter Version 3. Fill the empty cartridge with Pre-Washed Activated Coconut Charcoal.
How often should I change my filter cartridge?
We recommend you replace the loose carbon in the cartridge every 6 months. As long as the plastic cartridge and all its parts are intact, you only need to replace the loose carbon. If the cartridge is damaged from wear and tear, purchase a new empty cartridge and the loose carbon.
A pre-installation immersion procedure is recommended to harden the O-ring on the empty cartridge to prevent water seepage.
Remove the flat, black O-ring from the empty cartridge and place it in pot of water. Heat the water to 100 degree F for five minutes. Do not place the entire cartridge in hot water. This will damage the cartridge.
When you install the cartridge into the Backwash Filter Housing (upper blue filter on board) please make sure the jagged, white “O” washer is snapped in place. This ensures correct alignment of the cartridge with the filter housing. When you replace the cartridge please remember to take the jagged washer off and move it to your new cartridge.

You can return any unopened or unused product within 30 days on the date on your invoice. Simply send the item back with a copy of your invoice. If you are unhappy with any consumable product, you may return an open item for a refund as long as at least 50% of the original contents remain and the return is done within 30 days of the date on your invoice.
