Know about Chronic Fatigue

  • Chronic Fatigue, often referred to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), is a puzzling and often misunderstood condition affecting people’s quality of life. Chronic fatigue is much more than just feeling tired. It is a long-term condition that disrupts daily life and goes beyond normal tiredness.

What Are The Symptoms of Chronic Fatigue?

    Persistent Fatigue

The hallmark of chronic fatigue is extreme exhaustion that lasts for six months or more. Unlike typical tiredness, it doesn’t improve with rest and feels debilitating.

    Cognitive Issues (AKA Brain Fog)

People with chronic fatigue frequently experience cognitive difficulties, such as trouble concentrating, memory lapses, and reduced mental clarity. This is often called "brain fog."

    Sleep Disturbances

Paradoxically, while people with chronic fatigue frequently feel tired, they often experience unrefreshing sleep. Some may battle insomnia or struggle to wake up.

    Physical Aches and Sensitivity

    Common physical symptoms may include:

    • Joint or muscle pain without swelling
    • Headaches
    • Sensitivity to light or sound
