How and When to Be Your Own Doctor? Book Review

One of the most informed books about the role of fasting and nutritional health in healing disease is Dr. Isabelle A. Moser's How and When to Be Your Own Doctor? Originally published in 1997, it was made into an audio book in 2021, and details the personal story of Dr. Moser who found conventional medicine to be woefully inadequate in diagnosing her and her family's health issues. She was diagnosed with cancer in her 20s, and saw her brother and other family members face similar results. She championed a form of natural healing therapy called nutritional hygiene, which emphasized cleansing, fasting, and raw pure foods.
Excerpts from the Book:
"Standard dietitians divide our foods into four basic food groups and recommend the ridiculous practice of mixing them at every meal. This guarantees indigestion and lots of business for the medical profession... It is usually a poor practice to mix different foods from one group with those from another."
"...the most dangerous indigestion comes from the sad fact that cooked proteins are relatively indigestible no matter how strong the constitution, no matter how concentrated the stomach acid or how many enzymes present...[W]hen protein chains are heated, the protein structures are altered into physical shapes that the enzymes can’t “latch” on to..."

- "This is a treasure. Get it. APPLY it."

I’ve read many different sources but I haven’t read this person’s book. She and I seem to have the same ideas and experiences, according to your article. I’ll have to add it to my book reading list. Thank you.
