The Groundbreaking Research of William A. Tiller Ph.D.

by Dr. Clark Store Staff

William A. Tiller was a research scientist at Stanford, where he pioneered new methods for exploring phenomena of mind effecting matter in the laboratory. He published over 350 research articles on his discoveries, and authored several ground-breaking books.

Tiller proposed that the fundamental equation of physics should be expanded to include consciousness, where consciousness is more of a basic feature of physical reality rather than an epiphenomenon or observer artifact. He challenged what he identified as a foundational assumption in modern science, stemming from Descartes, that "no human quality of consciousness, intention, emotion, mind, or spirit can significantly influence a well-designed target experiment in physical reality." Tiller theorized the existence of two distinct physical spaces: "D Space" (the Density realm of normal matter and antimatter) and "R Space" (a higher symmetry realm where waves travel faster than light). The human mind and emotions can interact with R Space but not directly with D Space. To bridge these realms, Tiller postulated subatomic entities called "Deltrons" that have the capacity to travel both faster than light and slower than light, thereby acting as a communication mediator between D Space and R Space.

Intention Imprinted Electronic Devices (IIED)

Tiller's central experimental methodology involved an electronic circuit designed to produce random voltage spikes; the noise was influenced or 'imprinted' by human intention and stored in the memory of the device. Human intentions could be embedded into simple electrical devices through meditation from a deep meditative state and could be used to change the properties of materials.

Key Experimental Findings:

pH Experiments: In 1999, Tiller and Dibble tested the effect of imprinted intention on pH levels in bottled water. Testing at Stanford University found that pH fell by over 0.25 units more for samples exposed to imprinted devices compared to control devices.

Conditioned Spaces: Later research at Minnesota University explored the idea of 'conditioned spaces' by leaving an imprinted device in the same location for three months. Acidity changes in conditioned spaces were compared to nearby controls, with very significant differences observed (p = 0.001). Interestingly, conditioned and control samples began to display similar variations in acidity levels, even after a year.

Biological Effects: Working with Michael Kohane, Tiller examined the interplay of electromagnetic fields and imprinted intention on the growth and metabolism of 10,000 fly larvae of the genus Drosophila Melanogaster. Results showed that electromagnetic shielding reduced larval development time by 10% and increased metabolism by 30%, with groups of larvae placed next to imprinted devices and exposed to EM fields giving growth and metabolism rates intermediate between EM exposed and non-exposed groups.

The Concept of "Conditioned Space"

Tiller's work revealed a detector system that provides continuous measurement of conditioned spaces to show a quantitative measure of the excess energy of such a space compared to normal reality. The human acupuncture meridian/chakra system operates at this higher symmetry state.

The Role of Consciousness and Spiritual Development

Tiller proposed that human intention can be a source of energy and highly ordered work, and that macroscopic information entanglement potentially explains how intention produces physical effects. Directed and focused intentions by individual humans diligently working on themselves can transform them into higher states of beingness.

In response to the question of what consciousness is, Tiller wrote:

"Torr Norretrander reminds us that the human conscious mind can only process less than 50 bits of information per second while the human unconscious mind can process more than 50 million bits of information per second. Thus, it is the latter that actually gathers the multiple data streams of information flowing through a human at any point in time. It appears that our unconscious system gathers such information, organizes such information and refines such information.

It then appears to create small kernels of prepared relevant information to send to the conscious mind. However, it appears to do so only if the conscious mind has previously given meaning to that topic. If the conscious mind has not given serious meaning to that topic, such information kernels appear to be “dumped” by the human unconscious mind.

From the previous paragraph, this suggests that giving meaning to specific information is a very important aspect of/to materialized change in human consciousness.

Further, this author would propose that it is not just an intellectual awareness of such specific information that is needed to generate a materialized change in human consciousness but, it is the incorporation of a critical dose of such information into an appropriate structural level of the self so as to constitute ”a new information creation, DI*, in the “self”; then, from the ground-breaking discoveries of Shannon and later, Brillouin, a quantitative equivalent change in negative entropy, -DS, is created in our world. This, in turn, increases the coherence of our world."

Implications and Revolutionary Claims

Tiller argued that psychoenergetic science applications would usher revolutionary changes of Copernican-scale magnitude, and that today's quantum mechanics must be expanded to include human consciousness as a significant experimental variable.

Tiller elaborated his psychoenergetics concepts in books including "Conscious Acts of Creation: The Emergence of a New Physics" (2001), and "Some Science Adventures with Real Magic" (2005), describing a new energy in nature that mediates long-range information transfer and connects regular space-time physics with psychoenergetic science. While his ideas have become mainstream New Age fare, his experiments make them grounded in empirical data, and provide direct evidence for the power of prayer, meditation and conscious intention.
