Inactivates hard to control organisms (water-borne pathogens, including protozoa and more) in your entire house without adding chemicals to your drinking water which compromises the purity and alters the taste of your water.

Ultraviolet Disinfection renders harmless microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, algae and protozoa.*

The UV systems shines a UV light through the water and only needs a fraction of a second to “zap” and render inactive most types of microorganisms.*

It kills “bugs” by altering the cellular material (DNA) in most microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, and protozoa) so that they cannot reproduce and cause infection.*

We recommend UV systems to be installed at every home that uses city water and homes that are supplied well water. Install your UV system as close to the point of use as possible.

Bugs that are resistant to chlorination Protozoa Cryptosporidium is resistant to chlorination and so are some forms of fecal coliform, E. coli. People with low or immature immune systems are more vulnerable.*

Both can enter drinking water sources through the contamination of animal fecal matter – even city water that has been treated with chlorine.

Protozoa are hardy and have evolved to survive in water. They can create a protective “shield” for themselves and remain in inactive mode called a cyst. This cyst is what can protect them from disinfection such as chlorination. The problem is that even in this resting stage they continue to act as powerful pathogens.

    Lower Immunity:
Because of improvements in sanitation modern population has lower immunity to these microorganisms than decades earlier when water was not systematically sanitized.

A brutal epidemic occurred in 1993 in Wisconsin when 400,000 people were infected by cryptosporidium. The outbreak caused more than 60 deaths.

When Cryptosporidium and giardia lamblia enter the small intestine and, in effect ‘hatch’, they cause flu-like symptoms such as severe diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and fever. Most people recover from these types of infections within a week. However people with low or immature immune systems are more vulnerable.
